Is this you?

28/9/2012

Does this sound familiar?
  • You’re at home the majority of the time, if not all the time, because it's difficult or even impossible for you to go out
  • You’re on you own a lot of the time
  • You’re bored, frustrated and isolated
  • You used to have lots of friends; but now you hardly see anyone. You’re cut off. You wish you had best friends you could share things with
  • You’re jealous of people who are doing amazing things like travel; but you’re not bitter, you just dream of  having a normal life
  • You’re open to new things and look for things you can do to have fun and fill your time
  • You feel like you’re a bit stuck at the moment. You’re desperate for something new, to shake up you life for the better
  • You’ve learnt a lot from the obstacles you’ve faced
  • You love the Internet – it’s meant you can do things like shop, keep in touch with people and fill your time. Without it you’d be lost!
  • You enjoy creative things, even if you don’t think of yourself as artistic
  • You’re a social butterfly who feels like you wings have been clipped
  • You get bored easily and want a variety of things to do
  • You’ve had enough of daytime TV!
  • You have big dreams and plans for when life gets better
  • You may get down; but you never give up
  • You believe life is for living and you won’t let challenges from stopping you finding happiness
Life's tough and it’s been like this for a long time. It feels like there’s little hope of it changing soon
If this is you then you're why I do what I do and why I set up Live in Love in Laugh in. I know exactly how you feel, because I feel like it too and I'm doing all I can to stop feeling like this and help you stop feeling like it too. I know how horrible it is and I wish I had a magic wand for you, me and everyone out there who has to live like that. Until I find that wand, I want to create something to lessen the pain, to distract you from the harsh reality of everyday and give you something fun to enjoy and look forward to. See how I'm doing that with Live in Love in Laugh in here...
Claire Wade is the winner of the Good Housekeeping Novel Competition and author of The Choice. She was bed bound for six years with severe ME, trapped in a body that wouldn't do what she wanted. She now writes about people who want to break free from the constraints of their lives, a subject she's deeply familiar with.
