Holding My Book for the First Time

Today has been a magical day, the very first copy of The Choice arrived and it was the most amazing moments of my life. I've dreamed about it for so long and it's often felt like it would never happen.

The Choice took six years to write, edit and then get a book deal. If I hadn't won the Good Housekeeping Novel Competition, I'm not sure it would be happening now.

Winning the competition was just the very first step in a long process. It's taken a further year and a half to finish the edits and get it ready for publication on 26th December. 

​It's not always been easy, in fact there are times when I thought it might be more than I could manage, but thankfully I've had some great support and encouragement from family, friends, my agent and editor, and my fabulous writing community.

​Today made it all worthwhile. This was my reaction...

It feels very surreal to hold my book and know that it's no longer just a dream. My name is on the cover, it's my story inside. Olivia, Alice and their journey is printed on the pages, not just of this book, but all the books that rolled off the printers.

​I really can't wait for you to get a chance to meet them.
