 Today has been a magical day, the very first copy of The Choice arrived and it was the most amazing moments of my life. I've dreamed about it for so long and it's often felt like it would never happen.

I've been waiting to show you for a few months and it's been so hard to keep it to myself, but now I can finally let you see the stunning cover Orion has designed for me.
 For my third week of The Great British Bake Off Bake Along I tried Paul Hollywood's technical for making floury rolls. I didn't bother with the veggie burgers, as this is supposed to be Bake Off and veggie burgers aren't baking.
I enjoy making bread because you can do it in stages and I always leave my dough in a cold place overnight for a slow rise. It's perfect for pacing.  'Eat the best, leave the rest! After being horrified by the complexity of the Angel Slices last week, I was wonderfully surprised by the simplicity of the Fig Rolls this week. I even followed the official recipe.
 I'm having quite a day! I just found out that Orion will be revealing the cover for my debut novel The Choice tomorrow at 2.15 pm. I am so excited it's finally happening. I saw it back in May and it's absolutely stunning. It's also nothing like I expected, so it was a bit of a shock at first, but I'm delighted with it and I can't wait for everyone to see it.  From Competition to CoverLooking back on the past sixteen months is quite incredible. I won the Good Housekeeping Novel Competition in May 2018, started editing in September, went through the final proofs in August 2019 and now the cover is coming out. I keep having pinch me moments at how exciting this is. So what's The Choice about?Imagine a world where… Everything you ate was monitored by the government. Every step you took was counted. Your children were weighed every day at school. Neighbours reported on neighbours and no one was safe from judgement. Sugar was illegal, and baking was a crime.  I've watched The Great British Bake Off since it first started. I've watched the highs and lows, the disasters and the feats of baking excellence and I've judged them from afar. What I learnt last week was that the Technicals are far more difficult than they look.
