If I could be any character in fiction, I would be...

Have you ever wished you could escape real life and slip into a fictional world? Picked up a book and wanted to step into the story? Or kept thinking about a character long after you've finished a book and set it back on the shelf?

I do this all the time, thinking about stories I've loved, imagining what would happen next, as if the world is continuing on in some parallel universe.

It got me thinking - if I could be any character in fiction, who would I be?

There are just so many inspiring women in literature - both the classics and modern day stories, from Jane Eyre and Elizabeth Bennet, who seem the obvious choices, to some of the new classic - Hermione Granger anyone? How about Celia from The Night Circus?

It doesn't even have to be a woman, although the only men I can think of are  from Harry Potter. Maybe I need to read some more books with male leads!
A couple of my personal favourites are Rachel Morgan from the Hollows Series by Kim Harrison and Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich - there's something about a smart, quirky women who kicks ass while speaking witty banter that inspires me. I like that they're flawed, they make mistakes; but they pick themselves up and start again.

How about you?
If you could be any character in fiction, who would you want to be? Let me know in the comments.
